How to choose the size of baseball pants

When choosing the size of baseball pants for competitions, the core is to fit the waist without sagging, reserve enough space for sports with hip circumference, ensure unrestricted running, jumping, sliding, and other movements, while avoiding the interference of pants dragging.

1. Core measurement: precise control of 3 dimensions

Waist circumference: measured around the thinnest part of the waist, the size chart waist circumference range should include the actual value, with an error of no more than ± 2 centimeters. It is recommended to choose a style with a drawstring for easy adjustment of elasticity and to avoid slipping of the waistband during exercise.

Hip circumference: 3-5 centimeters larger than the actual hip circumference is the key fitting point. Adequate margin can ensure no tightness when squatting or stepping, avoiding fabric pulling that affects the range of motion.

Pant length: Measure from the waist measurement point to 3-5 centimeters below the knee, or just cover the upper edge of the calf. Being too long can easily cause tripping and increase drag, while being too short may expose the legs and affect protection.

2. Code selection principle: prioritize “slightly loose fit” and not be greedy for size

More than half or one size larger than daily outfits, no need to choose extra large sizes. Oversized pants can cause leg movement and creases at the waist, which can interfere with running and sliding movements.

If you have a strong physique (well-developed hip and leg muscles), prioritize “hip circumference fit” and then consider waist circumference. You can choose styles labeled as “sport cut”, which will have extra allowance reserved at the hips and legs.

Avoid tight fitting styles, even if aiming to reduce wind resistance, it is necessary to ensure that the leg muscles exert force without restraint. Tight fitting styles can easily affect blood circulation and may also limit movement and stretching.

3. Refer to the size chart: focus on the “sports specific parameters”

Priority labeling of “competition/training specific” size charts, which clearly indicate hip circumference allowance and pants length adaptation scenarios, is more accurate than general size charts.

If the size chart has a “leg circumference” parameter, it is recommended to be 4-6 centimeters larger than your own calf circumference to avoid narrow legs affecting the range of leg lifting.
